This is very useful, but turning this off can result in battery life improvements since the watch will not be using those sensors to detect when it needs to wake the screen. The Apple Watch's extreme battery savings mode, known as power reserve mode, is a unique feature. However, by essentially converting your watch into a conventional timepiece, it does extend the battery life. To save battery life on your watch, you may also turn off background app refresh.
